I bought a one-size-fits-all dress once. It was humiliating, to say the least. Like many Americans, I am a big girl, but not so big that I have a hard time fitting into an airplane seat or anything. This dress had been made in India, (which should have tipped me off on the size!) carefully detailed and beaded, and then washed with a green dye and sandblasted. It was very beautiful, and I’m a sucker for green, and the booth at the art fair was closing in a matter of seconds. I whipped out my money, paid, and scooted, assuming that it would fit.

It didn’t.

Not wanting to accept defeat, I struggled in vain to fit the thing around my hips, but succeeded only in a renewed diet resolution (hasn’t worked) and a spate of tears. The dress now hangs in my svelte mother-in-law’s closet, and I will never again put myself through that.

People come in different shapes: height, weight, skeletal structure. Our feet, faces, and hands are all different. So are our fingers. When then, do nearly all women’s rings come from manufacturers in a standard size 6? Are we all to conform our fingers to a 6? Do they have cosmetic surgery available for that? Sure, you can have it sized, but not every design is sizable, and why should someone have dictate what size it starts off as? What if I wanted a middle finger ring? I’ve seldom seen a size 6 middle finger.

There is no way that any business can predict what design will sell in what size. But we have tracked sales and resizings for quite some time and noticed a trend: size 6 is no longer the average. The ‘new’ average is approximately a 7.25, from our calculations.

You’ll find something different with us. We don’t have a standard size, on any design, for any gender. You will find smaller men’s rings, larger men’s rings (we can make up to a size 25!)… you will also find women’s rings in a broad range of sizes, from 3 to 12 and then some. Many of our designs are unisex, and sizable to your perfect fit. Necklaces & bracelets will also come in a variety of sizes, weights, and lengths.

Of course, most of our pieces are sizable- some not as much as others- depending on the design. And many of our designs are completely customizable. But I think that you’ll find an easier time locating your perfect size with us, and we will never try to fit you into a box.
