So… it’s over, huh? Too long of a story to go into, you just know it won’t work out, they weren’t the right person, not now anyways.
But you have a ring, this expensive symbol of a love once shared. It’s too late to return it, the pawnshop won’t give you anything, and eBay is too flooded with other people’s jewelry for you to get a decent price. Leaving it on consignment is always a good choice, if you trust the store and don’t mind waiting an indefinite amount of time.
So what does one do with that ring?

Do you wait around for the next person to give it to? Seems rather unlucky, but its your call to make…
Do you sell it somewhere else? How about this site? Anyone had any luck here? I’d be interested to know.
Do you do something reckless and freeing, like the woman who climbed the Eiffel Tower and threw her ring off the observation deck, into the anonymous crowds? I hope it didn’t hit someone on the head!
Or do you do what this guy did, and turn it into something fun? He made up a scavenger hunt for the residents of his New Zealand town. Some lucky person will be sporting a new ring by this weekend, and they’ll always have an interesting story to tell!
To anyone out there who has gone or is going through this process, I offer my shoulder to weep on. Tell us in the comments your story, your plans, and what happened (or has yet to happen) to that ring. And, in all seriousness, better luck next time!
